Making cool cuttings............

Here at Plantmad we are not conifer growers but some conifers have such a cool story behind them that you can't help but propagate a few! This is the Vietnamese golden cypress Xanthocyparis vietnamensis.  Not discovered by Western botanists until the 1990's it's only close relative is the Alaskan Cedar Xanthocyparis nootkatensis (Syn. Chamaecyparis nootkatenis). Two closely related plants one from Alaska the other from Vietnam! Gotta' love the mystery!
