Cuttings are waking up.

It's been a horrible Spring so far here in Oregon. We have yet to reach 60F this year (a new record!) & most plants look more like late February than late March! Still slowly things are waking up.

A long Name gets longer....

At the Miller Garden last week I came accross one of my favorite but rearly seen plants:
Lithocarpus densiflorus f. attenuato dentatus
I guess this name wasn't long enough for the botanists though, it's now

Hepatica Madness

Last Friday I was up at the Miller Botanic Garden in Seattle for the Spring Great Plant Picks Meeting. One of the many Miller projects is Hepatica breeding & they were all flowering in their full glory when we visited.

Wisteria grafting again!

Our plan wast o begin our Wisteria grafting last weekend but the weather was so cold & horrible we delayed starting until this week! Here Chiyoko is putting new Wisteria grafts onto our callus bed, they will stay here for 2 to 3 weeks before we pot them up.
